What is lactic acid?

Lactic acid is an AHA first found in sour milk. It dissolves dead skin on the surface and also pulls water into your skin, so it exfoliates without drying. It is a good first acid for dry or sensitive skin.

Lactic Acid FAQs

Lactic acid is gentler. Its molecule is larger, so it sinks in more slowly and stings less.

Use it two or three nights a week. Many people build up to every other night.

Start with 5%. Move to 10% after a month if your skin handles it.
