What is bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is an extract from the seeds and leaves of the babchi plant. It smooths fine lines and evens skin tone in a way similar to retinol, with far less dryness and peeling. You can use it morning and night, and it doesn't make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

Bakuchiol FAQs
Bakuchiol matched 0.5% retinol for wrinkles and dark spots in a 12-week study, with less scaling and stinging. Retinol still has decades more research behind it.
Bakuchiol isn't a retinoid, and many people switch to it during pregnancy. The research in pregnancy is limited, so check with your doctor first.
You can use bakuchiol twice a day from the start. It doesn't need the slow build-up that retinol does.
