How To Reduce Hyperpigmentation? IG LIVE with Jan Marini & Amy

Hyperpigmentation of some sort plagues most people at sometime in their lives. For some it will be almost unnoticeable to anyone but a trained professional and for some it will be extremely discouraging and disheartening.

Well, I had the pleasure of sitting down virtually for an IG Live with the one and only Jan Marini who has been an expert in the field for over 30 years. She is of course the founder of Jan Marini Skin Research and has multiple patents on her innovative skin care technologies. We discussed everything from Melasma to Postinflammatory Hyperpigmentation (AKA pimple marks) to of course solutions. If you missed it, you can watch it here.

Every time I listen to Jan Marini speak about her innovative products I am always struck by the research. You might say, Amy… you are always going on and on about “research” and it’s frankly boring. Well, I’m here to tell you RESEARCH MATTERS. When you find a product that has been clinically validated (especially head to head with some of the most famous skin care in the Dermatology world) you know you’re making a good choice.

So now, the reason you’re all reading this post… I’m here to give you the inside scoop, the low down if you will, on exactly how Jan recommends to treat hyperpigmentation… and let me tell you she doesn’t have even the tiniest bit of discoloration- her skin is flawless. During our conversation, she highlighted the importance of using a combination of the right skin care ingredients for your skin. In other words, NO one product is going to solve your skin woes, something we all know too well!

She recommends everyone start with the Jan Marini Skin Care Management System. This literally takes ALL the guesswork out of the process and you know you’re selecting effective products for your skin type. There are separate systems for Normal/Combination skin and for Dry/Very Dry skin. This System is truly everything you need to fight pigmentation complete with some of my favorite lightening ingredients.

Let’s break down exactly what is in the system and the benefits of each product:

Bioglycolic Facial Cleanser. If you haven’t heard, glycolic acid is only my favorite ingredients and it is especially helpful for hyperpigmentation because if exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cells leading to a more radiant appearance QUICKLY. I often joke that glycolic acid is what motivates my patients to keep using their skin care because they swear they notice a difference in just a couple of days!

The Famous C-Esta Face Serum. This is a crowd favorite made with a less irritating form of Vitamin C commbined with DMAE This product packs an antioxidant punch and helps our skin fight off aging free radicals.

Bioclear Face Lotion or Cream depending on the skin type chosen. A combination of glycolic, salicylic and azelaic acids to again help brighten the skin’s tone and texture.

Marini Luminate Face Lotion. A personal favorite of mine and my nightly serum, this product contains all-trans-retinol and a-arbutin, a powerful lightening ingredient along with other innovative non-hydroquinone ingredients.

Age Intervention Face Cream. If there’s one thing we know about aging, it’s that dehydrated skin is our enemy. This face cream will help to lock in hydration which helps the skin appear more youthful.

Lastly and perhaps the most important is a daily SPF. If you aren’t wearing a daily sunscreen, don’t even waste your time with any other lightening products! When choosing the Regimen Management System, you’ll choose between the Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 33 or the Marini Physical Protectant SPF 45.

As you can see you really have absolutely everything you need on the path to fighting hyperpigmentation in the Skin Care Management System. If you’re feeling like an A+ student you can even add in the Marini Luminate Eye Gel (great for dark circles) or the Marini Luminate Face Mask for weekly use!

For a limited time on Exclusive Beauty Clun you’ll get the choice of a Luminate Eye Gel, Luminate Face Mask, or Luminate Face Lotion with any $200 Jan Marini purchase. Just use code LUMINATE and get glowing.
